For past two nights Carnegie Hall, open its door to Hip Hop culture and Jay-Z walked right in. The ticket priced range any where between $150- $1500. The funds from the concert benefited The United Way of New York and The Shawn Carter Foundation with proceeds going towards raising awareness on the low graduation rates in the NYC school system, battling poverty, and helping make college a reality for low-income students.

Jay –Z performed his music catalog with the backing of an orchestra, the Illadelphonics and his DJ. Alicia Keys and Nas also joined in on Jay-Z set. However the highlight of the night came when Jay gave the first ever performance of ‘Glory’, the song he recorded just days before the birth of his daughter Blue.

As Blue Ivy’s cries filled the auditorium, the stage lights turned blue and Hov got quiet. Then he wiped his face and said, “My greatest creation was Blue…Man, that was tough. I didn’t think I was gonna make it through that one” he said afterward.

Check out the video below of Jay-Z performing Glory for the first time.
