In a dramatic tribute to Trayvon Martin Democratic Representative Bobby Rush was asked to leave the House chamber for violating House rules pertaining to proper clothing attire.
During the speech Illinois Rep. Rush revealed he was wearing a hoodie under his suit jacket. In a move of worldwide solidarity as it related to the murder of slain Sanford Florida teen.
“Racial profiling has to stop Mr. Speaker,” Rush said while taking off his suit jacket, “Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum.”
Rep. Rush was then escorted from the House Floor.
