More then 1 million Americans live with an HIV positive status. The numbers of cases mirror that of some African countries disproportionately affecting homosexuals and Black America.
Washington DC is said to be of epidemic concern with increased numbers especially in wards 5, 6, 7 and 8, with ages ranging between 30 to 59 of infected persons. This year the 19th annual International AIDS Conference will be held in the nation’s capital and what better place. The advertised use of condoms is almost as common as a Latte or a Turkey burger. “You can’t walk a block downtown without passing a coffee shop that offers free condoms or a bus stop ad reminding you that real men “ask for the test.”
So will TRUVADA be a turning point by saving more lives than HIV/AIDS has destroyed. It is available and on the market.
A study was conducted involving both negative and positive patients the results showed patients who took TRUVADA as a daily regimen developing the medication in the blood stream were less likely to contract the deadly disease. But on the other hand, Statistics indicated that another study of “2,100 HIV-negative women in Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa, were shut down early after Truvada failed to protect women any better than the placebo”. The difference here is these THEN negative human studies were not on a daily dosage of the anti HIV prevention drug.
After 30 years and millions of lives lost the FDA has approved the drug TRUVADA shown to be effective in the prevention on the warfare on humans especially Black America. If this is the cure with minimal side effects then will there soon be a patch!
