It was 25 years ago this week that the “Bad” lp was released. “Off the Wall” & “Thriller ” were so monumental, that “Bad” was actualy called “DISAPPOINTING” !!
Here are a few “Bad” facts we should not forget:
“Bad” has 5 number 1 singles !!(the first to ever do so).
“Bad” has 6 Grammy nominations, winning 2.
In 2009, MTV ranked “Bad” #43 Lp of all time.
On Rolling Stone’s Top 500 of all time,
“Bad” is number 202.
“Bad” sold 40 Million copies world-wide, 8 million in USA.
As of 2010 , it was listed as the 5th best selling lp ever !
The single “Bad” went number 1 in 7 countries.
The song “Bad” was written to be a duet featuring Prince and Michael. They couldn’t work it out.
Michael wrote 60 songs for “Bad”, and recorded 30. NIne of the eleven tracks on the LP were written by Michael.
They built a special stage in the studio so Michael could dance and record.
The album was certified Platinum in 12 countires.
The video for the song “Bad” featured Wesley Snipes and it was directed by Martin Scorsese(Good Fellas) .
World wide, “Bad” out sold “Off the Wall”.
