Storm potential could cause  $1 billion in damages, According to Meteorologists Hurricane Sandy has a  70 percent chance of a serious impact in the U.S. The  East Coast could experience strong winds heavier rains.

 

 The Hydrometeorological Prediction Center is forecasting upward of 6 rain up to 3-4 inches on the Eastern Shore and Maryland beaches starting Sunday through Tuesday or Wednesday.

Preparations are already under way in Maryland as a precaution for Sunday’s arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

“In Baltimore, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management is encouraging residents to make sure they have a battery-powered radio and flashlights with fresh batteries, and at least three gallons of water per person to last them through three days of drinking and sanitation”.

As always residents should clear storm drains and debris. Please have emergency medications and phones available, stay abreast of changing conditions.

As the Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. watches the progression of Hurricane Sandyin ready mode forwidespread power outages.
