At least for now the voice of Elmo may change as accusations are building around Baltimore Native Kevin Clash. He’s been charged on sexual misconduct with a teenage boy.
Although the voice of Elmo (Kevin Clash) has denied the accusations he has been granted a leave of absence. Now 23 years old, the accuser claims the sexual relationship started when he was only 16, Kevin Clash was 45. Has been acknowledged and confirmed that there was a relationship but according Kevin between two consenting adults.
“I am a gay man. I have never been ashamed of this or tried to hide it, but felt it was a personal and private matter. I had a relationship with the accuser. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to characterize it as something other than what it was.”
Sesame Officials also feel as though the relationship was personal with allegations unsubstantiated. and “unrelated to the workplace.”
But the case moves forward with the now 23 year old accuser possibly being represented by the same legal firm that represented one of the victims in the Penn State Sandusky case.
Although, in another statement Sesame Street officials said their investigation “did reveal that Kevin exercised poor judgment and violated company policy regarding internet usage and he was disciplined.”
Well it sounds like there were some developing issues.
The company in no uncertain terms stated that Elmo is bigger then any one person and will continue.
