Kerry Washington, 36, has received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the role as Olivia Pope on the hit ABC drama “Scandal.”
Washington said on Twitter, “Just landed. WOW! I’m so grateful & humbled. THX 4 all your CONGRATS. And a HUGE thank you to the @PrimetimeEmmys voters! What an absolute honor! Wow.”
Washington said, “I’ll spend the rest of my life saying this and it won’t ever be enough but… THANK YOU @shondarhimes XOXOXOX.”
Social media fans of “Scandal” have been rallying for her to get a nomination since the show’s debut season.
