The civil-rights themed drama “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” is number one again at the box office victory in its second weekend in release.
According to an estimate from distributor Weinstein Co., The Butler, starring Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, saw its ticket sales fall only 31% to $17 million. After 10 days in release, the picture has brought in $52.3 million and is speeding towards the $100 million mark.
