One week Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are in the news linked to divorce rumors. The next week there is growing speculation of an open marriage. Whatever you try to label it there is no denying it. Will and Jada are a beautiful, loving, married Black couple who simply respect one another.
Earlier this year Jada addressed open marriage rumors with a Huffington Post reporter Mark Lamont Hill. She had this to say:
“Will and I are very relaxed with one another. I’ve always told Will, ‘you can do whatever he wants as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.’ Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that’s not for me to do for him. Or vice versa.”
