UPDATED, Monday, March 10, 12:30 p.m. E.D.T. –

This morning’s collective action Tallahassee won’t end when the rally is over, say its organizers. “It’s time really to step our game up,” said Pastor Jamal Bryant, speaking with Roland Martin this morning on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

“At 3:30 we’re going into the state capital to meet with legislators,” Bryant explained. Because the legislative session is only 90 days long, they want to move quickly to press lawmakers on the state’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law. “We want to see what we can do to repeal or to amend it. We don’t it just to be feel-good, warm and fuzzy moment, but actually we want executable action items to take place.”

Among those at the rally in Tallahassee, which was scheduled to have begun at 9:30 a.m., are Pastor Bryant, the parents of  shooting victims Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis, as well as Rev. Al Sharpton, Tom Joyner, and attorneys Benjamin Crump and Daryl Parks. NewsOne will track this story throughout the day.

EARLIER:

Pastor Jamal Bryant joined Roland Martin on NewsOne Now to discuss a march against “Stand Your Ground” planned for Monday in Tallahassee. The panel got heated when conservative Armstrong Williams suggested to Bryant that race isn’t an issue in considering “Stand Your Ground.” Before the segment was over, Bryant had accused Williams of not “standing with black people.”

There was more. Listen to the full conversation below.
