Believe it or not, Spring has sprung!! As we prepare to ‘Spring Clean’ our closets, we should also be thinking of cleaning out our makeup bags. Your beauty goodies all have a shelf life. Read on to check out what you should toss and what products should travel with you into Spring!
Cream, Liquid Foundations & Cream Blush: 6 months
Powders and Powder Blush: 2 years
Cream and liquid products have a shorter shelf life then powder products. Replace your creams and liquids every 6 months. Dry powder products last longer and should be replaced every 2 years. I usually do a year and a half or so.
Mascara: 1-2 months
Nothing’s worse then old, dry, chunky mascara. Replace your mascara every 1 to 2 months to ensure that it’s fresh for your fringe.
Lipstick, Lip Balms and Glosses: 1 year
You should switch out your lip products every year or so. If you use a potted gloss that you apply with your fingers, replace it every 6 months.
Powder Eye shadow: 2 years
Cream Eye shadow: 6 months
Powders and dry products are a little more forgiving. Replace your powder shadow every 2 years. As for creamy eye products, ditch them after 6 months.
How long have your beauty goodies been living in your makeup bag? Time for a little Spring cleaning.
