Magic Mess
Brother is unemployed and relying on his live-in girlfriend for financial support until he completes his six month job training program. She constantly brags on other guy’s accomplishments and he feels bad about it. Is he being insecure?
Your Advice
- Definitely she should stfu and encourage him w/ out boasting about others…I applaud her for supporting him thru his career transformation..but she’ll end up loosing him..and then he’ll have a new career with mega bucks and she’ll be mad at herself for pushing him away
- He can do bad by himself
- That’s considered a squeeze play. she is either pushing him away or trying to motivate him.
- Very delicate situation depending on how strong the person is. You don’t want them start doing things that is out of their character (drinking & drugs) to cope with a situation
My Advice
You should tell her how her bragging is making you feel. If she doesn’t change it, it may be time to reevaluate if she is really in your corner. The truth is that if she loves you she will stop and give you the time and support to get back on your feet.
