This week’s Human Being of the Week is Ben Jackson, a 20-year-old athlete from Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, who is an avid wrestler and currently training to compete in international weightlifting.

Ben also has spastic cerebral palsy, which is a movement disorder that comes from increased muscle tone, resulting in stiff muscles and awkward movement.

When Ben was born, doctor’s said he wouldn’t walk, much less do all the amazing things he’s done thus far.

“They even suggested that my mom just let me die, because I would be a burden and too much to deal with. Fortunately, my mom put it in God’s hands and took me home,” Ben said.

When doctors said he would never walk, Jackson shattered their expectations, by not only learning to walk, but also learning to ride a bike, play basketball, lift weights and wrestle competitively.

His determination is the subject of a new ad from Gatorade, calledBen Jackson, Never Finished.”

“I think in life, people wait for challenges to come to them,” he says in the video. “But when you’re born with a challenge, you learn how to overcome that from day one.”
