TMZ is reporting that DMX  boarded a plane from Miami, en route to Charlotte, North Carolina, when he became ill. When the plane landed in Charlotte, DMX was rushed to the hospital with food poisoning Wednesday night (Jan. 25).

He was in the emergency room for four hours then was treated and released.  He is expected to recovery fully.

DMX told TMZ.com that he had eaten some bad shrimp in Miami, just before he left his baby’s mother’s house.

The couple’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television are partnering with Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment to launch the format, which according to The Hollywood Reporter is expected to be shopped internationally and domestically.

Cowell said, “DJ’s are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”

Rapper Fat Joe and his wife Lorena Cartagena who have been married for 17 years are divorcing.

Fat Joe is reportedly openly cheating on his wife with a 26-year-old woman from Dubai named Ms. Dubai.

Fat Joe might be feeling himself. He recently lost alot of weight and is now losing his wife as well. 

An insider told the website, “Happy to say, Lorena is fine and well at this point and as stressful as the situation has been for her, she has a lot of peace with just raising her daughter”.

Deion and Pilar Sanders divorce is getting nasty.  TMZ is reporting that ex-NFL star player Deion Sanders is demanding that Pilar get out of his house … now!…Ooch!

Deion wants his space and had enough of sharing a home with the woman he’s divorcing. He’s asking a judge to force Pilar to move out.

Deion believes the divorce should be governed by the prenup. Pilar wants that prenup thrown out claiming she was duped into signing it. Deion counter claims saying Pilar knew exactly what she was signing, and even consulted with lawyers beforehand.

Talk show host Sherri Shepard believes the use of the n-word is okay for African Americans to use, but not white folk. She told Essence.com why she defends the use of it.

“That word brings up so many issues with everybody. I have Black friends who hate the word and don’t want it used. I respect those friends, and I don’t use the word around them. However, this is a word that was in my family. 

When my uncle played dominos and spades, I heard it used in the utmost of affection. My mother used this word with my father, and my cousin used to say it at our family reunions. I also heard it when I moved to the suburbs in Chicago, and it was used very negatively towards me by white people. To hear a white person say it just brings back those negative feelings.”

She continues, “The power was taken out of the word, and I know where it comes from. I respect Richard Pryor for deciding not to use it after he returned from his trip to Africa. For me, this word was just a fun word attached to some wonderful memories of people in my family.”

The cast of the movie “Red Tails” celebrated at the New York Premiere  on Jan 10th.

Black activist Judge Kevin Ross, Michael Ajakwe, Najee Ali and several others support the cast and urge people to see the movie in what the are calling “Occupy Red Tails”.

They are  petitioning Americans  to recognize those who fought to maintain American freedoms and privileges.  

Film maker Lucas has been trying to tell this story for over 23 years but Hollywood wasn’t having it. So decided to tell the story using $90 million of his own money to make and market the film.

Through “Occupy Red Tails,” the activists goal is to make a statement to industry big wigs that people are interested in real drama, real stories, stories about Black America.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” NeNe Leakes made her debut on “Glee” last night.

NeNe played McKinley High swimming coach Roz Washington, an Olympic medalist with no time for children testing her patience.

After her appearance aired, NeNe tweeted her fans: “Thanks u all who r tuning n2 Glee & Thanks so much 2 every1 that has tweeted & texted me well wishes! I’m overwhelm wit happiness.”

NeNe Leakes  next appearance on “Glee” will air on Feb. 7.

The Baltimore Ravens scored a 20-13 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Ravens are now in the AFC title game against the New England Patriots next Sunday.

‘Linebacker Terrell Suggs said, “I always say there is a right way to do things, there is a wrong way to do things and there is just the Ravens way of doing things. It wasn’t pretty but we’re not really a pretty team. We got the W and now it’s on to the AFC championship.

Ludacris is closing his Asian fusion restaurant Straits in Atlanta.

In 2008 Luda opened Straits with his business partner Chris Yeo. He has now decided to close up shop after winning a contract to build Chicken N Beer, a new food spot at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Luda said in a statement, “As I continue to learn and evolve as a businessman, I am extremely excited to put my restaurateur footprint into a new venture inside the busiest international airport in the United States, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Straits was a great segue into the industry and, with Chicken N Beer, I can create my own concept. I look forward to expanding my creativity and driving to a much higher plane.”

“Chicken-n-Beer,” will serve comfort food and craft beers using locally grown ingredients and is due to open this spring.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith made a nice profit when the couple sold their seven-acre Hawaii vacation home for $20 million.

They purchased the three-bedroom and three-bathroom home in Kauai for $13.5 million in 2009… a $6.5 million profit only after two years.

The mansion includes hardwood floors, solar heating, a swimming pool and a hot tub.

The family’s nine-bedroom estate in Calabasas, Calif., includes a basketball and tennis courts, three golf holes, a recording studio and a private lake. Wow!
