Diddy Gets Jacked For His Peach Ciroc

A truckload of Diddy’s precious Ciroc Vodka was said to have gotten jacked in Memphis, Tennessee. The truck contained the first shipment of Ciroc Peach for local businesses in the area. A number of locals took to Twitter to talk about the highjacking, although no official reports have been made or released.

This could be a publicity stunt, or an actual crime…time will tell. Wonder what Diddy thinks?

Researchers Say Diversity Is Curing Urban Crime

Crime rates in American cites are falling and according to new research diversity may be the reason.

Researchers at the University of Toronto believe the growing trend of racial diversity in American cities is contributing to the downward trend.

“The association between crime and community characteristics — like the proportion of the population that is black, Hispanic, poor, or foreign-born — diminished considerably over time,” notes the study. “The strength of the relationship between the share of black residents and property crime decreased by half between 1990 and 2008, while the association between the share of Hispanic residents and violent crime all but disappeared

Up To No Good! Criminals Posing As Police Become Growing Trend

A New York times article discusses the growing trend of people impersonating police officers. Across the country, criminals are donning badges and uniforms and claiming to be cops in order to gain the trust of unsuspecting victims.

The NYT reports:

In South Florida, seemingly an incubator of law-breaking innovation, police impersonators have become better organized and, most troubling to law enforcement officials, more violent. The practice is so common that the Miami-Dade Police Department has a Police Impersonator Unit.

Since the unit was established in 2007, it has arrested or had encounters with more than 80 phony officers in Miami-Dade County, and the frequency has increased in recent months, said Lt. Daniel Villanueva, who heads the unit.

Whether it’s traffic stops or home invasions, more and more people are buying fake handcuffs, badges, and sirens. Law enforcement teams are saying there needs to be a crackdown on the ease with which stores are permitted to sell such police replicas.

COMPTON-Compton, California, a neighborhood once notorious for drugs, gangs and violence has seen a significant drop in crime. Yahoo News investigates why.

With a huge drop in homicides in a historically crime-ridden part of Los Angeles County, longtime residents say they finally feel safe sitting on their front porches and visiting neighborhood parks.

Compton, Calif., tallied only 24 homicides in 2010, down from 36 in 2009 and 87 in 1991, according to L.A. Times crime reporters. All in all, homicides plunged by 67 percent in less than five years, and other violent crimes are also way down.

Local authorities credit a 10-year effort to strengthen community ties and fight gangs. Residents tip off cops to possible crimes and help prevent youths from joining gangs, sheriff’s officials say.

Mitrice Richardson Found Dead: Remains Found In LA

The remains of Mitrice Richardson have been identified in Malibu Canyon, a source tells the Los Angeles Times.

CNN confirmed the news and said that the family has been informed.

The body was found on Monday about two and a half miles from the last credible sighting of her on Sept. 17, 2009.

Richardson had vanished nearly a year ago, after she was arrested for being unable to pay an $89 dinner tab at a Malibu restaurant and subsequently released in the early morning hours while it was still dark.

Montana Fishburne Prosecuted For Assault On Ex-Boyfriend

Newly-minted porn star Montana Fishburne allegedly beat the hell out of her boyfriend’s ex and is being prosecuted for assault with a deadly weapon.

Montana was arrested last February after allegedly barging into the alleged victim’s home (the complaint does not give her name), forcing her into the bathroom and beating the crap out of her. We’re told the victim had “significant injuries.”

The L.A. City Attorney’s Office has charged Fishburne with battery, and will be adding charges of false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon.

Montana, who’s being repped by the effervescent Shawn Chapman Holley, has pled not guilty and the case is pending.

Fishburne’s boyfriend, Jerome Greene, was also charged in the attack against his ex-girlfriend but already pled no contest to domestic battery.

As for Montana — who is releasing her first sex tape through Vivid Entertainment — she has big problems. She was arrested last November for prostitution. Montana pled no contest to the lesser charge of criminal trespass and was placed on probation. The judge could use the pending case to violate her probation.

More Sexting In Detroit, With The Same Woman

The city of Detroit is once again being rocked by yet another text messaging scandal. This one involves the former chief of police and the interim police chief.

As Paula Tutman reports in the video above, both men were involved with the same women, who is a subordinate on the police force.

Judging by dirty laundry being hung out of police headquarters. The street name, Baubein, may need to be changed to address–soap opera alley.

Former Police Chief Warren Evans, dismissed by Mayor Dave Bing in July in part for a romantic relationship Evan Sharpes with a subordinate Lt. Monique Patterson.

Now, thanks to saved text messages, an attorney for Evans says new interim chief Ralph Godbee is not above reproach either because he had a romantic relationship with the same woman when he was deputy and a married deputy chief at that.

“These are messages from the current Chief Godbee to Monique from the period both before and during the time that they had a relationship.”

The text messages were disclosed to the mayor’s office several weeks ago they show not only a romantic relationship but potentially explosive revelations that sex was being used for power and advancement.

FBI Will Investigate Shooting Of 7-Year-Old By Detroit Cop

The FBI is investigating the death of a 7-year-old girl killed by a shot from a Detroit Police officer’s gun, U.S. Rep. John Conyers announced today.

Conyers said he asked for the review. In a statement today, he said Justice Department prosecutors assigned to the Criminal Rights Division will review the FBI’s findings. The Civil Rights Division looks into allegations of official misconduct and civil rights violations, including use of excessive force by police.

“The shooting of Aiyana Jones has shaken the entire city community, and it demands a thorough and independent investigation,” Conyers said in the statement.

With tears running down her cheeks and her voice breaking with emotion, a Bronx mom finally admitted yesterday that she took seven children on a drunken hell ride that ended with one girl lying dead on the side of a Manhattan highway.

Carmen Huertas, 32, pleaded guilty to all 16 counts against her stemming from the tragic October 11, 2009, crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway in which she taunted her terrified young passengers, “If you think I’m going to crash, raise your hand!”

Huertas broke down in sobs when Justice Charles Solomon asked her if she’d caused the death of 11-year-old Leandra Rosado.

“Yes,” Huertas said, as her voice cracked. She also admitted being drunk on cognac and speeding with the six girls — including her own daughter — in the car.

The girls had been placed in Huertas’ care for a slumber party — and she’d taken them to another party in Chelsea without informing their parents. Huertas was driving them back to her Bronx home around 12:30 a.m., when she lost control of her station wagon and flipped it over, tossing Leandra from the car and onto the side of the road.

A bulletproof vest saved the life of a city cop shot by one of his NYPD colleagues Sunday in a wild Harlem shootout that left two men riddled with police bullets.

Luis Soto, 22, died after being shot six times. The fatal bullet tore through his lungs, heart and kidney

The police said Soto was killed by Angel Alvarez, 23, who then shot at police officers, four of whom returned fire.

No matter where you are in the city of Baltimore it seems that violence isn’t far behind. Just this weekend 4 people killed on city streets and 6 others wounded. Today violence does not have a time preference, morning afternoon or overnight, it’s a perpetrators’ call.

As the death total rises what must we do to save our families, our city and enjoy urban life as we once knew it! Crime has impacted us on many levels; as victims, statics of the penal system and even some living in fear of being the next victim.

Are our city officials doing enough to combat crime? Have we reinvested in the youth of today, many are challenged and heavily influenced by their peers. Let’s take back the city first by becoming more upstanding citizens ourselves who are actively involved in the neighborhoods in which we reside. A change is gonna come but when and what will it take!

Seventy Youths Brawl On Metro: One Sprays Aerosol Can in Face

It was bad enough when Kimberly Hay’s family, riding the Metro to the Kennedy Center on Friday night to watch “Mary Poppins,” saw three youths assault a terrified young rider reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” by aiming an aerosol can at his face and spraying.

But the brawl they witnessed on the way home several hours later, which involved at least 70 youths fighting each other in a frenzy, left Hay’s nieces “freaked out” and the 43-year-old wary of riding the Metro in off-peak hours.

“It was pandemonium,” said Hay, who had traveled to the District from Charles County with her husband, sister-in-law, 25-year-old niece with special needs and two grandnieces, 11 and 14.

There’s still blood on the pavement and fear along South Saginaw Street. Folks are wary over on Miller Road, too.

In fact, there’s concern throughout Genesee County as police search for a knife-wielding man who has attacked 13 men since May, killing five.

Arnold Minor was killed Monday morning on South Saginaw near Barton on Flint’s south side in front of Deuces Wild Kustom motorcycle shop. The blood was there Thursday.

“We’re just trying to get the word out to our friends and family,” said Rashandia Jones, a clerk at Diamond Cleaners, next to the bike shop. “Watch where you’re at.”

Bernie Mac’s Widow Files Wrongful Death Suit Against Doctor

Bernie Mac’s widow has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Chicago against the late comedian’s longtime doctor.

Rhonda McCullough alleges that a few weeks before Mac’s 2008 death, dermatologist Rene M. Earles did not recognize signs of respiratory failure and kept the 50-year-old Chicago native at his clinic for several hours rather than call an ambulance to take him to a hospital.

Earles tells the Chicago Sun-Times he treated Mac that day. He says Mac appeared weak, had a low-grade fever and a rash. He says after Mac told him another doctor had given him an injection for a cold, he called Mac’s doctor and was told Mac had been diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.

Earles says he immediately advised Mac to go to a hospital and that Mac was taken to one in a chauffer-driven car.
