He will play the role of a LAPD officer Travis Marks. The character is a carefree, charismatic guy who was an abandoned baby raised by the system. He lives in a motel and is satisfied with his lifestyle. Along with some notable qualities, Marks is also a womanizing kind of a guy.

The other lead role is yet to be determined.

The AP is reporting that the co-host of “The View” has been tapped to host “The Newlywed Game” when it begins its fourth season on the GSN network in November.

Shepherd said Wednesday she’s excited about joining a show she recalls watching as a child.

During its heyday in the 70s, many of “The Newlywed Game’s” questions dealt with “making whoopee,” the euphemism that producers used for sexual intercourse to circumvent network censorship. However, it became such a catchphrase of the show that host Bob Eubanks continued to use the word throughout the show’s many runs, even in the 1980s and 1990s episodes, when he could easily have said “have sex” without being bleeped.

The updated GSN version, which had been hosted by Carnie Wilson, will debut with Shepherd on Nov. 1. Production on “The Newlywed Game” is moving to New York, where Shepherd tapes the “The View.”
