Duke Lacrosse Rape Accuser Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend

DURHAM, N.C. – Crystal Mangum, the Durham woman known for falsely accusing three Duke University lacrosse players of rape in 2006, is accused of stabbing her boyfriend early Sunday.

Mangum, 32, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She is being held without bond.

Investigators believe that Mangum stabbed her 46-year-old boyfriend in the torso during a dispute, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael told CBS affiliate

FBI Steps In To Help Police Find Missing N.C. Teen

BALTIMORE, MD — The FBI is now in on the search to find a missing teen from our state.

Phylicia Barnes was reported missing last week while she was in Baltimore to visit family. Barnes, who is from Monroe, North Carolina, left the apartment she was staying at on December 28 to get something to eat and she never came back.

Pictures of Barnes are plastered all over Baltimore and police say while they have executed several search warrants so far nothing has turned up.

Barnes has no history of running away and was on track to graduate from high school.

General Norman Johnson, the lead singer for Chairmen Of The Board has died at 67, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

General Norman Johnson, lead singer of the soul vocal trio Chairmen of the Board, died Wednesday at age 67.

His group was best known for the song “Give Me Just a Little More Time,” a favorite of Carolina beach music and shag dancing aficionados. It’s a defining song of the Southern soul sub-genre.
