Cheetah died at the age of 80 this week in a Florida animal sanctuary. He had been living there since the early 1960’s. In the 30’s he starred next to Olympian turned actor Johnny Weismueller in the legendary Tarzan movies. Weismuller adopted Cheetah and kept him after the succesful movie franchise ended. When Weismuller died, Chetah became part of his estate. Knowing how long chimps live, Weismueller arranged for his care in his will.
