But I think of him more than just as an athlete. His work with the gangs in L.A. and his ground breaking career on film is far more telling of who Jim Brown is.
When Jim Brown appreared on screen with his shirt off with Raquel Welch, America lost it’s mind. It was in the 60’s and the country wasn’t ready for that. Truth is, America was never ready for Jim Brown.
Dont forget all the Saturday afternoons we spent in the movies cheering Jim on as he “stuck it to the man” in the “Blacksploitation” movies.
