One of Professional basketball’s all-time greats has had to use a lawyer who agreed to work for free to answer charges that he is behind $800,000 in child and spousal support. He was ordered several years ago to pay $5,000 a month per child, plus about $2,000

a month in alimony.

His lawyer argues that those figures made sense while he was playing

and even after his playing days he might have been able to make those payments from endorsement income. But now Rodman is in his 50’s and is suffering from addiction and other medical problems.

Experts say he may be eligible for a reduction in the amount but it will be hard to explain why he basicaly has never paid anything. His lawyer says he is broke.
