The count of meningitis infections in the state of Maryland continues to rise. According to the Center of Disease Control (CDC) approximately 1,500 Marylanders have been exposed to the meningitis fungus. Now totalling 1 death and 9 infections, 12 nationwide.
It’s expected that 13,000 Americans have been infected with the meningitis fungal.
“The outbreak stems from a contaminated batch of steroids injected into patients
spines to relive back pain starting in May, according to the CDC. “
