Quoting anonymous multiple sources, Us Weekly reports that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is being fired from “The View” after internal research found that her political views are turning away audiences. Hasselbeck has offered the conservative counterpoint on the show for 10 years.
Following Us Weekly’s report, TV Newser posted a similar story. The site’s Alex Weprin cited two sources who said Hasselbeck was leaving. But, a spokesman for the show told Weprin that Hasselbeck has a “long-term contract.”
Co-host Joy Behar announced last night that she will leave the show when her contract is up at the end of the season.
