AJ Cooper

A.J. Cooper, former TV host, died Wednesday at the age of 34. Cooper was the host of BET’s “Teen Summit” and put in a bid for D.C. Council recently. Cooper’s aunt said he complained of chest pains and fell ill a few days ago. He collapsed in his mother’s home early Wednesday morning. A.J. Cooper had recently become engaged over the Thanksgiving holiday to girlfriend Ryan Palmer.

Born and raised in Washington, Cooper graduated from Roosevelt HS and the University of Maryland in 2009. He served as Policy Director for D.C. Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
