With the sudden death of Chadwick Boseman last year, rumors have been flying around about the possible use of CGI or even having the story revolve around Shuri (Letitia Wright) taking on the mantle of the Black Panther. 

Raven Goodwin will play legendary actress Hattie McDaniel, the first African American to ever win an Oscar, in Behind the Smile. Now, she will take on one of her most profound roles to date.

According to Shadow and Act, Raven Goodwin, known for her roles in “Being Mary Jane” and The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel will take on the role of McDaniel in a film titled Behind the Smile.

It's still early in the new year, but it looks like we got a strong contender for movie of the year already.

Everyone's talking about Disney Pixar's latest animated film Soul that was released Christmas Day. Soul follows Joe Gardner, voiced by Jamie Foxx,  who is a middle school band teacher discovering life's true purpose on his journey in and out of the great beyond.

The highly anticipated sequel lands on March 5, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

Audiences will see Chadwick Boseman's final film performance this week when 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' premieres on Netflix December 18th. They will not be disappointed.

According to Deadline, Queen Latifah has signed on as Executive Producer and lead in the Millicent Shelton directed Netflix thriller End of the Road, a film that follows recently widowed Brenda who, after losing her job, drives her family cross-country to start a new life. In the New Mexico desert, cut off from help, they must learn to fight back when they become the targets of a mysterious killer.

Horror satire has become increasingly trendy amongst Hollywood producers and now Issa Rae and La La Anthony are set to executively produce their own rendition for the popular genre in new horror comedy flick Juju. Media personality and actress La La shares the exciting news to Instagram today. 

Issa Rae Presents premiered a stellar independent film entitled Brown With Blue for its' latest edition of Short Film Sundays. The film follows a handyman and his webcam vixen girlfriend as they struggle with addiction to cope with their past mistakes. It is a riveting story starring Patrick Cage and Zoë Soul which explores drug addiction and displaced families. The short was directed by budding director Christian Nolan Jones and written beautifully by Dominick A. Cormier.
