Today in 1729, Baltimore the town was founded to serve the economic needs of Maryland farmers. It did not become a city until 1796 taking its name from Lord Baltimore, the Province of Maryland’s first Proprietary Governor.
Baltimore, referred to as the CharmCity, is United States’ largest independent city, and the largest cultural center in Maryland. Living in the city has many attractions from its thriving neighborhoods, excellent health care facilities, arts/culture districts, universities and a melting pot of citizen.
