With more people opting to simply take themselves out of the “marrying” pool; What is the scariest thing about being married?

  • Now that I am 40 my fear is that I will never get married
  • Not knowing if the marriage will remain strong for the years that come, hoping that things don’t become different between the 2 partners, like distance, intimacy may not be the same, just feeling alone even though your together.
  • When I was in my early 20’s, I always said I’d never get married. I thought it meant losing myself and being “tied down” to someone. However, when I met, then dated my husband, there was never a doubt after he asked me.
  • Lack of shame in our society now is the scariest. people aren’t shamed of cheating. people aren’t shamed of not taking care of their responsibilities. people aren’t shamed of being selfish. people aren’t shamed of how they make others look.
  • Not having an understanding of how to handle things in a disagreement which things can explode rapidly.
  • People seem to not take the vows of marriage serious. When I was married I tried everything to make it work from counselors to church families . In the end it hurt more because I felt like we didn’t fulfill our vows . Divorce is hard even when you realize it’s the only option left .
  • Probably one of my biggest fears regarding marriage is walking down the aisle with the wrong person, that can be so damaging!
