After months of debating, beginning in August 2013 the United States Postal Service will only delivery first class mail Monday through Friday. However, this decision will not affect mail order medicine, express mail and other (packages) not yet defined.

Email and social media has financially impacted the revenue of this 237 year old postal system. Although, the institute has raised the price of stamps to 46 cent it continues struggling to reach it’s financial objective. Sadly, the elimination of first class Saturday delivery will severely affect the economy with the loss of over 22,000 jobs, increasing unemployment. With this new schedule it is now clear to see how the postal system will increase revenue by nearly 2 billion dollars.

In addition the he U.S. postal service facilities will continue to operate on Saturdays.
