Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond, the former music industry executive who worked with artists like the Game, Brandy and Akon trial begun with opening statements in Brooklyn Federal Court.

Henchman is charged with 13 counts related to running a $10 million bi-coastal cocaine operation.

The prosecution began the trial detailing a sophisticated drug ring that included hiding drugs in UPS and FedEx shipping boxes from Los Angeles to New York. According to the prosecution, he used his company Czar Entertainment as a front to launder money for his operation.

The defense fired back, saying the arguments were built from shaky testimonies from those who had an incentive to lie. Several witnesses called to testify are facing jail time or are currently serving a sentence in jail. He also claimed his client never touched a kilo of cocaine and the nature of his business would require him to handle large quantities of money.
