Jaden Smith says he has no plans to try to become emancipated from his parents Will and Jada Pinkett Smith after his father jokingly claimed he wanted his own house for his 15th birthday in July.
On a joint interview with his dad today on” Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jaden said, “See, here’s the thing that you need to understand: I’m not going anywhere. The thing that people don’t get is everything at this house is free. So I can get anything and everything at his house, so I’m going to be there 20, 30 more years.”
Jaden also joked that his dad said he can only move out when he becomes hugely successful: “He says as soon as I have a movie that’s bigger than one of his movies, I can get my own house.”
Will Smith said his emancipation comments were taken out of context. He said, “I think I made a joke in Tokyo. I mean… my baby boy, he’s never leaving me, ever. No emancipation for the Smith kids.”
