Earlier this week journalist Roland Martin tweeted his feelings on the headlining hot topic of Paula Deen’s racist remakes and the fascination with a Plantation style wedding for her brother Bubba, also named in the deposition for sexual harassment of a Black female manager at one of their restaurants.
Martin had this to say about the Deen controversy: “Paula Deen made some stupid, racist comments. But if I’m mad at her using the N-word, I’m mad at you too,”
Various web sites and black social media interpreted Roland Martin’s comments as approval
Replying to social media Martin said: “To the ignorant folks, I never said it was OK for Paula Deen to use the N-word. But cut the pathetic hypocrisy and fake outrage.” He said in another tweet Thursday, “My logic is real clear: ZERO TOLERANCE for the N-word. Black folks can say brother, sister or friend.”
