It has been a hot topic in sports of accusations of athletes taking enhancement drugs for better professional performance. Apparently, players from across Major League Baseball, various teams and numerous players have been suspended after it was confirmed that they broke MLB’s drug policy.
MLB handed down a very strong message on violating the drug policy to 12 players after testing positive for PED’s. These players will take a 50 game suspension for the use of enhancement drugs from a biogenenesis clinic in south Florida’s Coral Gables. Those players include: “Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, Tigers shortstop Johnny Peralta, Phillies reliever Antonio Bastardo, Mets outfielder Jordany Valdespin, Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera, free-agent pitcher Jordan Norberto, Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, Mariners catcher/designated hitter Jesus Montero, Mets outfielder Cesar Puello, Astros minor league reliever Sergio Escalona, Padres minor league reliever Fautino De Los Santos and Yankees minor league outfielder Fernando Martinez“
Yankee’s third baseman Alex Rodriguez has been a major player in the spot light of doping and may be penalized through the 2014 season. Possibly penalized and suffering the largest repercussion for doping from MLB.
