The Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team rebounded from a disappointing home loss to the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday, November 17th, by venturing to St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands, and winning 3 straight basketball games against Marist College, Northern Iowa, and the Providence University Friars this past weekend to win the Paradise Jam Tournament Championship.  The finals victory over Providence on Monday, November 25th, brought the Terps’ overall season won/loss record to 4 and 2.  In the tournament finale against Providence, the Terps were led in scoring by University of Michigan transfer Evan Smotrycz, who tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds.  He was named to the all-tournament team.  Maryland point guard Dez Wells scored 13 points in the victory, and was named the Paradise Jam Tournament most valuable player.  The Terps next game will be at home in the Comcast Center against the Bears of Morgan State University on Friday, November 29th.
