Facebook Question of the day:

Should Maryland  Legalize it Marijuana?

There a new bill that lawmakers in Maryland will introduce into legislation early in 2014 to legalize the possession, cultivation, and retail sale of marijuana to adults. The proposed bill would remove all criminal and civil penalties for the possession of up to one ounce of marijuana  for those over the age of 21. The bill would also create a system of retail marijuana stores, cultivation facilities, and marijuana product manufacturers.

Martin O’Malley, the current Governor has said, earlier this year that he is opposed to marijuana legalization in the state. Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake said “I don’t think the bill is going anywhere. Whether I’m for it is irrelevant”. Baltimore City council president Jack Young  said he supports efforts to decriminalize marijuana.

Maryland is home to one of the highest rates of marijuana possession arrests of any state in the country. African Americans account for 58% of the state’s marijuana possession arrests.

Here our question:

Would you support a bill that would decriminalizing Marijuana. What would you vote ?
