A Baltimore Circuit Court Judge denied a motion today to move the trials of the six officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray out of Baltimore.
Defense attorneys for the officers argued that their clients would not be able to get a fair trial in Baltimore based on, among other things, the unrest that followed the death of Freddie Gray and subsequent curfew. The state’s attorneys argued that court needs to find an impartial jury out of the 300,000 potential jurors.
The trials are set to begin October 13 – but that date could be pushed back.
