Dr. Carla Spann, D.D.S. earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the Texas A & M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. Before attending dental school, she graduated from Duke University School of Engineering in 1992 with her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

A strong believer in keeping her knowledge and skills current, Dr. Carla has completed numerous continuing education courses and is an alumnae of the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida where she has expanded her knowledge of principles of general dentistry to incorporate all aspects of patients’ oral health, nutrition and medical systemic conditions in her practice philosophy.

Dr. Carla Spann, D.D.S. has a compassionate and conservative approach to dentistry. She believes that patient education is paramount to success in both resolving and preventing oral health issues. She practices a team approach to general dentistry, coordinating the execution of complex dental treatment plans in close communication with dental specialists and her patient’s medical physicians as needed. She is particularly skilled in helping fearful patients relax during their dental care and is certified to provide sedation for these patients when necessary, as well.

Dr. Spann, D.D.S. previously served as a part-time faculty member at the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry (served on the AGD executive board from 2010-2011), and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

A devoted soccer mom of two boys, Carson and Cameron, Dr. Carla Spann, D.D.S. also enjoys movies, playing golf, and cooking.
