After nearly two weeks a deal has been reached to reopen the Federal Government through January 15, 2014. House Speaker, Ohio Republican John Boehner said “There’s no good reason for our members to vote ‘no,'” The bipartisan plan introduced by The Senate would fund the government sending furloughed employees back to work. Temporarily, but just as importantly, it will fund the government through mid January and raise the debt ceiling until early February.
“We fought the good fight. We just didn’t win.”
Boehner and fellow Republicans did not get the control over Democrats that they had hoped for, while they fought the hardest to undo “Obamacare” even at the cost of the threat of an unprecedented default which would have devastating results on the country and the people of America.
Although Americans and even some Republicans voiced frustrations of their failing strategy still, Republicans promise to continue their mission to dismantle “ObamaCare.”
In the meantime President Barack Obama is ready to sign this deal into legislation to continue moving the country forward.
