According to the Charlotte Observer, Cullen Jones, a black man now holds the title of “fastest swimmer in America.”Cullen Jones of Charlotte, North Carolina’s won the men’s 50 freestyle – in 21.59 seconds at the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials.“ Jones said. “it was definitely the best meet of my life.”
He also said, “I’ve been dreaming of this forever, of qualifying for two individual events in the Olympics. The only thing different is that, in my dream, I’m giving better answers.”
He will be swimming in 3 events in the London Olympics this year and knows he don’t want to disappoint. Jones said, “the plan now is not to let the U.S. down.”
