The Food Network has fired its celebrity chef Paula Deen in the wake of her a court deposition which she admitted using the N-word in the past and planning a plantation themed wedding with African American waitstaff.
The Food Network said in a statement, “Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month.” Deen hosted “Paula’s Home Cooking,” “Paula’s Party” and “Paula’s Best Dishes” on Food Network..
Deen released two video apologies for her “inappropriate, hurtful language” revealed in the deposition that leaked this week but evidently it fell on deaf ears at the Food Network.
