Over the weekend the violence in Baltimore skyrocketed when 19 people were shot in 11 separate incidents. Eight of those victims did not survived.
During the summer months there tends to be a surge in crime and violence in Baltimore city. Concern citizen are left wondering what can they do to protect themselves and their community.
Police are working around the clock trying to solve these crimes and police Commissioner Anthony Batts, says he will continue to battle gangs and guns after a violent weekend. Saying that, “This is a spike. We will respond to that spike and we will be very assertive about responding to the spike,”.
The police commissioner has stepped up patrols in the areas where the shootings occurred and is trying to put as many foot patrols out as possible.
