We were all shocked and amazed when we learn that Ariel Castro had abducted 3 women and held them hostage for more than a decade. During that time, he beat and repeatedly raped the women fathering a child by one of his captives and causing another to miscarry.
This morning he faced 977 criminal counts, including kidnapping, rape and aggravated murder. He plead guilty to the charges and will now spend life in jail plus 1,000 years without the possibility of parole.
By accepting a plea deal, the three victims in the case — Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight — will not have to testify in court.
