Marvin Gaye’s Children claim in a lawsuit that “Blurred Lines” is an illegal rip-off of Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up”. Don’t get me wrong I like “Blurred Lines” in fact we do so many different line dances to that song, it’s mind boggling. But Thicke reportedly said in several interviews including Bill Board Magazine and Oprah “Pharrell and I were in the studio making a couple records, and then on the third day I told him I wanted to do something kinda like Marvin Gaye’s ‘Got To Give It Up’,” that kind of feel cause it’s one of my favorite songs of all time.” To read more on that click here.
