In the 1999 film “The Hurricane”, “Denzel Washington” portrayed boxer Rubin Carter. Carter is now fighting prostate cancer. He was diagnosed in 2011 and was given three to six months to live, but the 76-year-old is still fighting the disease.
A source tells the New York Daily News, “It’s hard to look at him like this.”
Carter was wrongfully convicted of murder and Denzel Washington was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the fighter Rubin Carter shown in a scene of the movie above.
