When a child is successful and rich do they owe their family and have to fund them? Your Thoughts….

  • I would definitely help my son mom & sisters. Also only my immediate family who always helped and supported me. I wouldn’t help family members who never helped themselves before I was rich. I know how to say no..real quick rich or not.
  • My parents did a great job and can get everything
  • It depends. if your relationship is solid, there will be no abuse or selfishness on either side. sometimes ppl are delusional about their entitlement.
  • IF YOUR PARENTS HAVE BEEN GOOD TO YOU AS A CHILD. THEN YOU SHOILD BE GOOD TO YOUR PARENTS.OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS IF YOU CHOOSE BUT THATS OPITIONAL.
  • I have seen both sides of this — adult children being extremely selfish and unwilling to help their parents in need, and parents who felt entitled to pretty much every dime their adult children had. Its especially challenging in the African American community where there seems to be a greater expectation that you will help out family if you happen to be fortunate enough to be successful. But the respect needs to go both ways, and you have the absolute right to stop someone from taking advantage of you, even if they’re your momma.
  • I think my only obligation is to my parent(s) or children; even that is within reason.
