Not that we’re trying to discount anyone’s insecurities — we all have our own demons to work on.

But man, if we didn’t wish we had Dwyane Wade’s body image problems.

The 12-time championship NBA player covers the Body Issue of ESPN magazine, where he talks about his vanity struggle to overcome something that crippled him mentally as a young man.

But lest you think it’s over his weight, skin problems, deformities or some social issue that prevented him from feeling his best, think again dear friends.

For the Miami Heat player, who is among the most well-paid and talented athletes in the world, those insecurities came in the form of one outie belly button.

He says:

When I was young, my belly button was an outie, and I never even wanted to take my shirt off when we were at the swimming pool or outside during water fights. The only people who went into the pool with their shirts on were the kids who were overweight — and me. I knew that I was different. I knew from all the kids I had seen that nobody else had what I had. No one else had an outie.

But Dwyane went on to overcome his perceived deformity to be happy with himself. He talks stepping out of his comfort zone and how he was able to get past his deep troubles. Luckily, he has his gorgeous wife and his millions of dollars to help him get through it.

I don’t even view my belly button now. I make jokes sometimes when I’m doing an interview or taking a photo and I’ll say, “I’m making the outies cool.” I’m representing for all the kids out there who have the outies.
