MIKE BROWN ANNIVERSARY MARCH MIRED BY SHOOTING…
Yesterday marked the second anniversary of the shooting death of Mike Brown at the hand of a white Ferguson, Missouri police officer. Unfortunately, the peaceful protest march that was planned was interrupted by gunfire. A man was hit by a car but no one was injured by a bullet. There were no casualties.

MICHAEL JORDAN FEELING CHARITABLE…
What has gotten into Michael Jordan lately? After decades of being notoriously apolitical and silent on racial matters, the greatest (and most marketable) basketball player of all time has been speaking up and shelling out the dough. Last month, he issued a statement about police brutality against African Americans and donated $1 million each to a police organization and the NAACP. This month, he gave a whopping $5 million to the Smithsonian’s new African American Museum in Washington, DC. I don’t know what has sparked this change, but it is most certainly welcome. We’ve been waiting for years to see this Michael.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG “STRUTS” FOR TRANSGENDER MODELS…
Whoopi Goldberg dons her producer hat for a new reality series called “Strut.” It’s a show based on Slay Model Management, the first exclusively transgender model agency. The show premieres on the Oxygen network, September 20th at 9pm.

DRAKE VERSUS EMINEM…WHO YOU WIT?
There have been rumblings in the underground hip-hop streets of a pending freestyle battle between Drake and Eminem. Should this battle ever go down, it would be epic. Kanye West has pleged allegiance to Drake and claims the King of Ovo will “obliterate” Eminem. Drizzy has been racking up his fair share of bodies lately but, in my humble opinion, he don’t want it with Slim Shady. Eminem will MURDA him. Either way, I hope the rumors are true and I await this rap battle with baited breath. It would be historic.

GABBY DOUGLAS UNDER FIRE AFTER OLYMPIC WIN…
Angry tweeters gave Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas the business for not following the lead of her fellow Team USA members and placing her hand over her heart during the “Star Spangled Banner” on Tuesday. Gabby was photographed with her hands by her side. Was it unpatriotic? Was it UN-olympic? Or was it no big deal? Personally, I thought a right hand over the heart was only expected during the Pledge of Allegiance. Team USA took the gold. Stop trippin!
