We have become the incarceration nation. America’s prison population is the largest in the world. We have 2 million people locked up, at a cost of $24,00 each per year.
There are some states that dont have 2 million people.
Another 5 million are being monitered by parole and probation.
One out of every 32 adults in America is controled by the corrections system.
The #1 crime is possesion or sale of stolen property.(this category has got to be related to drug use).
70% of these upstanding folks , once released, will re-offend and be returned to prison. 70% !!!!
