UPDATE – Chris Brown and his body guard both pleaded not guilty and was released on their own recognizance. The singer’s charges have been reduced to a misdemeanor simple assault. Brown must report to his probation officer in California within 24 hours. The new trial date is scheduled for Nov 25 at 10:00 am. Chris Brown’s wrists and ankles were shackled and he wore a white t-shirt, black sweat pants and white Adidas. Originally the singer was ordered to drug treatment but the order was later vacated by the judge.

Felony charges have been reduced for troubled artist Chris Brown to a misdemeanor assault.

Brown is accused of punching a man who says he tried to get into a photo with the singer.

The 24-year-old Grammy Award winning artist appeared in a DC court room earlier today. According to reports conversation included in the altercation was Brown saying  “I’m not down with that gay s—” and “I feel like boxing.” 

Brown has since been released on his own recognizance. However, a future trail date has been rescheduled for late November.
