Cabell “Cab” Calloway III (December 25, 1907 – November 18, 1994) was a jazz singer and bandleader. Calloway was born in Rochester, New York, on Christmas Day in 1907. The family relocated to his parents’ hometown, Baltimore, Maryland, in 1918. He was a regular performer at the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York City.
