Sherri Shepherd is paying $4k+ a month to her ex in child support. Do you think the parent receiving support should have to provide an itemized list to the paying parent about where the money is going?

  • How does the custodial parent itemize laundry detergent, transporting the child, energy used for cooking a meal, etc. those are petty expenses that add up but really can’t be itemized.
  • I’m a single mother who is owed over $27k now. I didn’t need him to provide for me or my needs. I paid for everything. He was ordered to pay $94 a week. During that time daycare was $125 a week. I looked at it like that saves me a bit. Trust me it’s not hard to itemize if you’re being true.
  • Yes I do, with a 20% undisclosed amount
  • No. Its just too much to consider…too many variables…too many what ifs and maybe so’s…and the parent taking care of the child on a day to day basis needs to have some discretion about the decisions made for the child without worrying whether the non-custodial parent will approve or not. Like it or not, some trust has to happen if two people are going to co-parent successfully.
  • Yes, a spend down should be required and extra monies.. Left should go into a savings account .especially after following her story .. And if other parents are ordered a large a of money …. Yes spend down
  • No, it’d be nice but it will never happen.
  • I wonder what that list would look like for Kimora Simmons. . $100k a month for EACH child… Kimora, what you doin’ eh?.. Loololololol
  • I’ve never paid or received child support but don’t think it’s practical to keep track of every dime.
  • Yes, I would want a breakdown and itemization (receipts) her situation is crazy considering she isn’t biologically connected to the baby. Yet, I felt this way about guys for years. How is it that females are requesting astronomical payments but are they doing with the money? Unless they are in Private/Boarding school but babies…. I don’t know for sure if $3000 or per month is what a baby needs financially.
  • As long as it works both ways
  • I always thought the money should go into a trust since its for the child
