Last night, Serena Williams defeated her big sister Venus in the U.S. Open quarterfinals. The two faced off in three back and forth sets ( 6-2, 1-6, 6-3). Serena advances to the semifinals to take on Italy’s Roberta Vinci. If Serena beats out Vinci, she has a shot at winning the U.S. Open title and making history with the first calendar-year Grand Slam since Steffi Graf in 1988.
